There are many benefits to building with bio-based materials
Increase carbon storage
Fire retardant
Air quality
Thermal regulation
Hempcrete

Hempcrete is a mixture of woody hemp shiv and binder, such as lime, which is used as a wall material. It can be supplied as preformed bricks, such as Isohemp™ hemp blocks from UK Hempcrete, and Hemspan™ Bio Blocks. UK Hempcrete are also leading experts on hempcrete spray construction, applied on-site as a filler for structural panels or frames.
Pannels

Natural Building Systems have developed Hempsil, an insulating material which optimises the natural characteristics of hemp shiv to regulate moisture in the air. This allows it to maintain indoor relative humidity within a healthy range for humans and the building fabric, but also behave as if it were a much more dense material.
Insulation

Thermal insulation made from hemp fibre has the ability to regulate temperatures and so buildings stay cool in summer and warm in winter. To learn more, visit IndiNature.
Sound proofing

Due to the high quality insulation ability of natural fibres, they can be used to soundproof buildings.
